Examinations and treatments at Shanghai public hospitals, with official price references
Government-set maximum tariffs help you understand examination costs. Hospitals may charge less; actual charges are not necessarily identical.
Scope: basic medical services at Shanghai tertiary public hospitals. These tariffs do not automatically apply to international departments, premium services or private hospitals; confirm their prices separately. All amounts are in CNY and are maximum tariffs, not treatment-package totals.

A region does not mean the whole body. Trunk PET-CT covers the skull base to the mid-upper thighs; whole-body PET-CT covers head to feet.
When a single CT or MRI examination includes both non-contrast and contrast scans, the contrast examination tariff is charged once; the non-contrast scan is not billed again. Applicable add-ons, such as special imaging, are charged separately.
CT and MRI tariffs include the current CNY 5 adjustment. Where compliant digital image processing and upload/storage services cannot be provided, the applicable tariff is reduced by CNY 5.
Registration, other care and Zoying service fees are not included. The treating clinician determines whether an examination is appropriate; confirm actual charges against the hospital’s published tariffs and services provided.
Are Shanghai public hospital prices a complete treatment quote?
No. Published medical service tariffs apply to the specified item, unit, hospital level and effective policy. International departments and private hospitals may use different pricing. Medicines, contrast agents, consumables, pathology, anaesthesia, accommodation and follow-up may be billed separately unless the item explicitly includes them.
How do I estimate the total cost of treatment in China?
Request an itemised hospital estimate covering assessment, tests, procedure, anaesthesia, medicines, implants or consumables, inpatient stay and follow-up. Add interpreting, travel, accommodation and any agreed coordination fee. Ask which costs are refundable and what could change after medical assessment.
Which price should I rely on before paying?
Use the receiving hospital’s written estimate for your case and ask it to identify the applicable tariff or package. The tables below are reference items from named public documents, not a promise of a universal price or a guaranteed clinical outcome.
Zoying provides coordination and information. The hospital decides diagnosis, treatment, acceptance and clinical fees. Hospital availability and policy conditions must be confirmed for your own case.

The website does not have a portal for uploading patient medical records. When additional information is needed, please first explain the purpose and recipient, and then the staff will confirm the method of provision with you.
Zoying provides medical resource information, medical coordination and non-medical support; medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment are the responsibility of the receiving hospital and licensed physicians.
